I've been reading new info lately (and old info, too...) about the so-called Anonymous group. It didn't really shock me when Yahoo! took an interest to publishing a story about them hacking a government website. i did a little research on the group and came across a few comments and 'praises' by people who adore the group. They call them the 'Robin Hood' of the internet. We all should know the story of Robin Hood and how he stole from the rich and gave to the poor. He never got caught by anyone or any authorities. My brother talks about this group quite a lot, actually. He admires them in a way a child would look up to a superhero; someone who defies all odds and belief and expresses complete freedom. But life isn't a fairy tale; people die everyday, life sucks like losing the big game before the nationals. This group...they have some great qualities and virtues. They believe Government is corrupt and we as human beings should be free to choose our own paths. Even though they are called criminals. But what is a criminal? The world can label you a lot of things: a freak, nerd, jock, geek, tough, dark, a felon, etc. The literal meaning of a criminal in my own words would probably be this: "A person who breaks a law or rule set in place by a higher authority and declared guilty." See? Does it say in there that they are bad people in any way? So the conclusion of my thoughts is: I'm not for or against anything they do or say, but if you believe they are superheroes in the face of reality you are DEAD wrong. We all have the ability in us to do good. Don't be surprised when you hear a story about people doing right; don't think all the world is evil. Just when you think it is, you again are wrong. Yes, there is evil in the soul of humanity. But deep inside there is a shining light of hope in all of us. We all have the same internal pre-destined values: love, friendship, courage, humility, generousity, strength, faith, and hope. We all have pride and greed; nothing can change that. That's just human nature. But we can change the way we act. We can change the future and forgive the sins of others. All it takes is someone to just do a good deed every now and then. Then, trust me, it will spread like wildfire. We can't make this world a paradise, but we can make it better one small step at a time. Just remember this: "You can't change the past, but you can accept it and change what is to come."
